  • About The Role

  • Following recent changes within the BCAL HR team we have a great opportunity for an experienced HRBP to join the business and make a real impact. This is a key role in delivering HR strategy and adding value to our busy teams. You will act as a trusted partner to business leaders, coaching and advising them to achieve through effective people leadership. We're looking for someone credible with the ability to influence and be adaptable to your audience. We're a relaxed and friendly team but with high professional standards, representing the value that HR bring to an organisation.

     

    You’ll be comfortable building relationship with a wide variety of leaders who manage varied teams, from drivers and customer services advisors through to head office professionals. You'll have a receptive audience and the space to bring in your own ideas.

    Salary: £50,000 Per Annum

    Hybrid 3 days a week in office Birmingham Business Park
    Monday to Friday

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    Development & Succession

    • Lead and support key performance talent processes with leaders
    • Enable leaders to build strong talent pools
    • Partner with BCAL L&D to develop training interventions supporting business strategy.

       OD & Change

    • Lead/support with change programmes; restructures, TUPE etc.
    • Identify skills gaps and work with leaders to develop solutions.
    • Identify people related areas of improvement and solutions.

       People Data & Digitalisation

    • Analyse HR data and provide data driven solutions and recommendations.
    • Produce KPI reporting to drive decision making.

       Employee Relations

      (We have a small ER team who manage the day to day caseload)

    • Responsible for ER activity in your business areas. Working closely with the ER Specialist and advisors to ensure service excellence from the HR team.
    • Act as an escalation point for high profile, complex, ET's.
    • Manage and interpret ER case data to identify trends
    • Work with the ER Specialist to deliver ER/ERA (2025) legislative training.

       Employee Engagement & Culture

    • Lead Employee Engagement result sharing and action planning. Support leaders to own their teams engagement.
    • Play role in supporting the Engagement Forum activities.
    • Support recognition and engagement initiatives
    • Deliver on the BCAL HR Communications plan.

       Key skills:

       

    • HR Business Partnering experience required.
    • Strong stakeholder management
    • Adaptable
    • Strong influencer
    • Bachelor’s degree or CIPD Level 5 required.
    • CIPD Level 7 or master’s degree - desirable.
    • Driving license (occasional travel required)
