Main purpose of the role:
We’re looking for an experienced and highly capable Operations Manager to join our leadership team at BCA. This is a senior management position reporting directly to the General Manager, where you’ll take full operational responsibility for vehicle arrival, survey, storage, maintenance, quality, vehicle movements and workshop operations.
This is a key role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment and enjoys leading large teams to deliver exceptional operational performance. You’ll play a central part in shaping the site’s success, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring our customers receive the highest standard of service.
Our selection process is designed to give you a clear understanding of the role and the working environment. It will involve two on‑site interviews along with a site tour.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Operations Team and Managers, ensuring BCA values are upheld.
- Oversee all operational activity including vehicle quality, storage, handling, and workshop performance.
- Build strong relationships with customers and clients, ensuring contractual obligations, SLAs and KPIs are consistently met.
- Drive a strong health, safety and welfare culture across all operational areas.
- Work collaboratively with Finance, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support smooth site operations.
- Implement and improve processes, procedures and ISO standards to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Support delivery of the company strategy and promote a ‘Customer First’ approach across the operation.
Personal Requirements:
- Proven automotive operations management background with the ability to lead, motivate and develop large, diverse teams.
- Strong communication, organisation and customer‑service skills, with confidence working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to build positive working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Comfortable using industry‑specific systems, with training available where required.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively motivate and support the team.
